Joy Community Church, Weldon Spring, Missouri (MO), USA

Joy Community Church, Weldon Spring – Origin:
The history of Joy Community Church, Weldon Spring is a story of Godʼs faithfulness and desire to reach the St. Charles Community with the message of Godʼs love.

Joy Community Church, Weldon Spring started as a mission congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in 1994. Their first worship service was held at the Twin Chimneys Elementary School in OʼFallon Missouri.

The initial mission developer left Joy in January of 1997. Usually when the initial mission developer leaves a congregation the congregation is closed, but through Godʼs faithfulness and a small core of committed Christ followers, Joy Community Church, Weldon Spring remained alive.

Pastor Rispoli had been serving a congregation in Hanover Pennsylvania, when he was invited to St. Louis to consider serving and leading this small mission congregation.

Standing on the corner of Hwy K and OʼFallon road, Pastor Rispoli had a strong sense that God was calling him to this new mission field.

It is a sense of calling and passion that he still has to this very day.

His first Sunday was in April of 1997.

There were 36 people in worship and a new era had dawned for Joy Community Church.
